Kevin Sullivan Nashville reviews
Frankie Valli's still got it!!
A great evening of solid entertainment was had at the River Cree tent. The harmonies were phenomenal, and the presentation harkened back to the 60's with tight choreography. The 9 piece band, with a full horn section and amazing keyboarding, was incredible. The crowd was appreciative throughout, however, subdued enough to stay seated, by and large. We had been warned that seeing The Jersey Boys would disappoint us, but NOT SO! Kevin Sullivan still has a great voice, and although his falsetto is not like it was 35 years ago, he brought along 4 new, incredibly talented Seasons to help him out with the high notes. The backup singers provided tight choreography, reminiscent of the 60's. The crowd enthusiastically sang along to Frankie's songs, even the ones from his new CD that he did not originally sing in the 60's. We (50 something year old ladies) were pleasantly surprised by this concert. It is to be expected that drawing an older audience would result in subdued reactions. We would have enjoyed being able to stand and dance, but overall, it was a fantastic experience.
